According to Trading Standards, 19 out of 20 cars converted to gas by independent Installers (not Manufacturers) leak gas. Last year they converted 70,000 cars.

Good

A good gas convertor will give a 12 month warranty, (some may offer a longer period). This would normally cover defects in the gas conversion only

(Always ask for a copy of the warranty offered before commencing any work.)

BAD

Your manufacturer’s warranty covers the whole car and can last only 12 months. But a lot go beyond that to 5 years and some a lot longer.

Check with your Car  Manufacturer and obtain their terms and conditions / restrictions they may have in relation to the gas conversion / specific convertor;

BEFORE HAVING ANY WORK CARRIED OUT.
