Funding

GOOD

Funding for up to 70% of the conversion costs can be made by Powershift, the Government funded body who’s job is to promote alternative cleaner fuels / energy.

Funding is restricted to new cars or cars less than 12 months old, and varies according to the make, and model of vehicle involved. The vehicle has to remain in your possession for at least 3 years, otherwise a percentage of, or all the funds may be required to be repaid.

BAD

What they don’t tell you, is that your Manufacturer’s Warranty is at risk because the converter carrying out the work may not be authorized by the Manufacturer .

A convertor may have his own Liability Insurers for defective work carried out by them in relation to the conversion .

Before having any work carried out on your vehicle ( by a powershift registered Company or not ) check with your Manufacturer, not the Dealer, and obtain a written confirmation that there is no conflict between the Manufacturer and the Company carrying out the convertion.

L.P. Gas conversions can be expensive (funded or not ) but they are nothing compared to the value of the Manufacturer’s Warranty (which can apply for many years ) should a fault develop on your vehicle.
